Background and Research interests: My research interests include team training, aviation psychology and aviation safety. Currently, I am working on a project with the UCF/FAA/NAWCTSD Partnership for Aviation Team Training to develop guidelines for pilot training for unexpected events. Areas that are being considered are the concept of surprise, schema theory, and heuristics, as well as metacognitive and team training. Other projects that I am currently working on are: effects of national culture on teams, effects of preparatory information on pilots' reactions to unexpected events, and team training for medical teams.
