Heather Priest

Title: Graduate Research Assistant

Current work location: Institute for Simulation & Training

Research interest: My research interests include team training and team performance measurement, training in virtual environments, team leadership, multicultural/national teams, team performance under stress, usability of training technology, and HF in patient safety. I am currently working on the Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative (MURI) Operator Performance Under Stress (OPUS) project with Dr. Clint Bowers and Dr. Eduardo Salas regarding training teams to operate effectively under stress and FuLL TiLT with Dr. Shawn Burke and Dr. Salas in conjunction with Aptima, Inc. in the development of leader training for multicultural teams. I have also done work regarding team training measurement, designed training interventions for the military for teams and leaders, contributed to the development of an automated communication tool, and evaluated technology effects on patient safety in the field. I recently completed a three month internship in Washington DC with Aptima, Inc., a human factors engineering and design company.
