| Christian J. Jerome
Year started in the program: 1999, currently ABD
Research Interest:
I am interested in transportation safety, usability analysis, and human performance evaluation. I have been working at UCF and the Army Research Institute since I began the graduate program, and my internship was with General Motors Crash Avoidance Metrics Partnership, specifics outlined below.
Research Fellow, January 2000-present
Army Research Institute - Consortium Research Fellows Program
Conduct research concerned with Human Performance Cognitive Modeling (HPCM), augmented reality, cognitive feeling of "Presence" in virtual reality, and the evaluation of such systems. Responsibilities include literature review, experimental design, gather data/conduct experiments, data analysis, report writeup. Research Assistant, October 2002-April 2003
General Motors - Crash Avoidance Metrics Partnership
Supported human factors studies, which included tracking project progress, coordinating participant scheduling, supervising research personnel, designing experimental protocols, reviewing driver-vehicle performance data, preparing participant surveys, managing databases, preparing data summaries and performing statistical analyses.
Graduate Research Assistant, August 1999-present
University of Central Florida
Review literature and conduct experiments exploring problems with aging and driving, distraction while driving (especially influenced by in-vehicle devices such as cell-phones and navigation systems). Responsibilities include literature review, experimental design, gather data/conduct experiments, data analysis, report writeup.
