Dr. Jeffrey E. Cassisi is a Professor and a member of the UCF Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program faculty. He obtained his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1987 from the University of Florida. He is licensed in the States of Florida and North Carolina. He has published over 70 articles and chapters in the areas of psychophysiology, health psychology, neuropsychology, pain rehabilitation and psychology training issues. In addition, he has over 75 conference presentations in those areas as well. Dr. Cassisi has served as ad hoc reviewer for several journals and he serves on the editorial board of Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in health psychology, cognitive assessment, and psychopathology. His current and future research priorities are to examine women’s health issues, and to combine his psychophysiological and multicultural interests into studies of pre-chronic and chronic diseases. Dr Cassisi has chaired or co-chaired 13 master’s theses and over 30 Ph.D. dissertations. These professionals include: Kenneth Lofland, Ph.D., Northshore Integrative Healthcare and Department of Anesthesiology, Northwestern University, Chicago, IL; Christine Sheffer, Ph.D. Associate Professor of Oncology, Department of Health Behavior, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center; Buffalo, NY; Julie A Deisinger, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology, Saint Xavier University, Chicago; and Ruth Elaine Graves, Ph.D., Director of Behavioral Medicine, Community/Family Medicine, Howard University Hospital. Dr. Cassisi currently serves as the major professor for two Ph.D. students in the UCF Psychology Department.

The Lab

The Health Psychology Lab is committed to exploring diverse domains of human experience with a focus on the interactions among psychological and physiological events. Part of the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program, the lab provides training for graduate students and offers opportunities for undergraduate research participation.
