Dr. Lavooy has been teaching at UCF since the Fall, 1993, joining as a full-time faculty in the Fall, 1995. Her main responsibilities are on the Cocoa area campus. She received her Ph.D. in psychology from Miami University (Ohio) in 1988 and has held a variety of academic positions since that time. She served as Chair of the Psychology Department, College of St. Elizabeth for two years. Her teaching experiences cover General Psychology, Developmental, Animal Behavior, Physiological Psychology, Theories of Personality, and Basic Learning Processes, to name a few. Research interests include all aspects of gender differences. Her main research interests are in the scholarship of teaching and learning, with a primary emphasis on the use of the Web as a teaching tool and a secondary interest related to diversity issues. About 4-8 students per semester work with Dr. Lavooy.
