James A. Pharmer>
Research Psychologist

Year started in the program: 1996
Email address: pharmerja@navair.navy.mil
Current work location: Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division, Orlando

Research interest: James A. Pharmer is a Research Psychologist at the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) in Orlando, Florida. Mr. Pharmer currently supports the efforts of NAWCTSD under the ONR SC-21 Manning Affordability Initiative through implementing research, which compares performance of reduced sized air defense warfare teams using advanced watchstation technology to intact teams using current equipment. In addition, Mr. Pharmer leads the effort to use the human in the loop data collected under Manning Affordability to validate human performance models developed to support the goals of optimal manning on future naval surface combatants. He holds an M.S. in Engineering Psychology from Florida Institute of Technology, and is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida.
